Hilarious Crappy Pictures

As I was scrolling through countless mom blogs and researching (kinda) how make my little boo boo sleep through the night (no he's still not sleeping :/ ) I came across this beyond hilarious mom blog "Parenting. Illustrated With Crappy Pictures". This post in particular had me, seriously, holding my belly and dying of laughter (silently, duh I don't want to wake the babe). Every picture was freakin' hilarious and totally relatable!! From the starfish baby, the peacefully sleeping man to the cold upper body. Classic and it totally made my night. Here are some of my fave pics. Seriously check out this site, I'm sure there is at least one post that depicts a scenario you have gone through with your kids. You. Will. Die. In a good way, of course. Enjoy the long weekend :)

"So I pretend to be sleeping but really I'm going over the "to do" list or re-winding conversations from earlier. Or having pretend conversations that might happen in the future. On a good night the baby settles pretty fast."

"By the time I head back to my bed, the baby has turned into a starfish. Legs and arms stretched out, taking up my whole side of the bed."

"The first attempt to move him just makes it worse. He swings both arms and legs on top of me. He is stirring now so I can't move a muscle. I'm like a statue while I listen to his breathing to hear when he is in a deep sleep again to move him."

"... he finally wakes up.
And what is the first thing out of his mouth? The one and only thing I DON'T want him to say?"
LMAO

Happy Canada Day!!

Tomorrow is Canada Day, and we will be celebrating our wonderful country’s 144th birthday!

Canada Day is always a fun filled day, here in Montreal and all over Canada when we stand proud and boast about how grateful we are to live in such a beautiful country.

It’s also a great day to teach our kids about Canada, and spend a day of fun with our families. Montreal has a ton of great activities, all around the city. Of course they have a big parade in the Old Port, with plenty of activities, cake, and fireworks to follow. Montreal Canada Day organizers in charge of Old Port activities even promise an assortment of freebies perfect for families (as well as non-families), from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Even more family fun activities including inflatables, face painting, games, and of course a lot of flag waving can be done all over the city. Check out I Spy Montreal for a complete list of tomorrow’s Canada Day celebrations. You can also visit the Montreal Gazette for a partial list of what is opened and closed during the holiday.

Also in honor of Canada Day, Montreal Fashion Moms is supporting our fellow Canadian bloggers and are happily participating in The Great Canadian Blog Bash, hosted by Whispered Inspirations, Mom vs. The Boys, Pampered Patty, Good Girl Gone Green and Kat’s Confessions. What a great way to link up with our Canadian friends to celebrate this holiday.

We are so proud to be Canadians, and look forward to celebrating tomorrow with our sons, for their first Canada Day. How will you be spending the holiday with your family?

Child Model Meltdown

Walking down a runway wearing fabulous clothing and lookin' drop dead gorgeous sounds like a dream job. It sounds easy too, but I am sure being a model is quite a tough job, especially when you're just a little kid. Check out these heartbreaking photos below of a teeny tiny model crying and walking the runway at the Smalto menswear show in Paris this week. I'm not sure how I feel about it. This kid looks absolutely miserable and makes me wonder if this was the work of a crazy stage mom who forced her little boy out there or an overzealous designer who was going to have this kid walk the runway tears or not.

He looked handsome, but oh so miserable!

Do you think he was overtired? Embarrassed to walk in front of all those people? Or simply, he didn't want to be there. I am not sure myself, but I do feel bad for the little guy. The grown up model on the other hand did a good of keeping his composure and professionalism, it didn't affect his walk one bit. If attention is what the designer was going for, he definitely succeeded.

Harper's Bazaar's New It Girl!

The iconic Smurfette got a fabulous, divalicous makeover in the latest edition of Harper's Bazaar. The blue beauty isn't wearing her usual white dress and pumps, in this spread she is seen rocking some pretty fantastic accessories from designers Lanvin, Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana. I am loving those red boots from LV and that entire look from Lanvin is to die for. Work it girl!!

Macy's International Online Shopping

Amaaaazing!!

Macy’s, one of our fave US department stores, has just launched international online shopping to over 91 countries and that of course, includes Canada!! Other places Macys.com will ship to include the United Kingdom, Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America.

Macys.com customers will not only be able to see all the prices in their local currency,   but they also have a fabulous feature that will immediately calculate an exact quote of all the customs duties and tariffs that also must be paid upon shipping. That means, no hidden fees or surprise import charges. You will know exactly how much you will have to pay before you checkout. Don’t you wish all websites that ship internationally had that function?

This is a pretty exciting announcement, especially when it’s sometimes hard to find a lot of great online stores that price and ship to Canada. Macy’s is a great place to get fashion for the whole family, and now right at your doorstep! Can’t wait to get my online shop on! ;)

Fresh Summer Deals!

Yesterday I stopped by Maxi to pick up a few groceries (it was their 2$ sale!) and ended up in the Joe Fresh section looking at clothes for my son. He is almost 6 months, and just about to burst out of his clothes (size 3-6months). I have been lucky thus far, most of his clothing up until now have been gifts and I have rarely had to buy him anything, with the exception of his bathing suits and a cute outfit here and there. I have been telling my boyfriend that we will have to drop a bill or two soon to complete his summer wardrobe. But why drop that type of money when you can get perfectly good/cute summer outfits for less the $5 a set? Yep, that's right, less then $5 a set!

I stumbled across this deal yesterday, and to be honest they aren't the most adorable outfits, but hey they work! They are boyish, good quality and interchangeable. I now have 4 pairs of cotton shorts and t-shirt's that I can mix and match, you can't go wrong with that!

I also picked up some pyjama pants, 2 for $4 and a pack of 5 adorable dino onesies for $7. Not too bad if you ask me! They also had other great items, like bathing suit shorts,  cargo pants, jeans and the list goes on. So moms, if you're looking to add some easy breezy summer outfits to your son's wardrobe I'd head over to Joe Fresh for some amazing deals! :)

Sleepy Time

Seems tonight is video night!

I saw this adorable video of a little boy dosing off to sleep while sitting up on the couch, on The Ellen DeGeneres show a little while ago, and just came across it again on YouTube. Just wanted to share because it’s cute, and it’s kind of how I feel right now. Tirrrreeeedddd. Lol

Good Night Montreal Fashion Moms!! xo

A Call You Don't Want To Miss!

President Obama really does seem to have a way with the younger generation. We posted a vid last week showing Mr. President calming a hysterically crying infant (sorry Michelle) instantaneously as he held her and this video below is just as adorable! He gives a young boy an opportunity to phone his mom from the Presidential limo. Lucky boy!! We bet him mom is kicking herself for missing this call, lol. Check out the cute video below :)

Tickled Pink!

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share this adorable pic of one of our fave celeb families. In this photo Pink is absolutely glowing! And how cute is little Willow? LOVE! Pink tells People magazine "You hear people say it all the time, how life changes so drastically. But you can't possibly grasp how beautiful that is until you have your child," We couldn't agree more. Precious!

Weekend Rainy Day Activity

Looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend but all this bad weather in Montreal is getting you down? Why not get out of the rain, and hit up the movies? The much anticipated sequel, Cars 2, is out in theaters today.

Star racecar, Lightning McQueen, voiced by new dad Owen Wilson, is back with tow-truck buddy, Mater and they’re headed for a world championship. Cars 2 is said to be and international adventure that’s even more action packed than the first, with more high-speed chases, and a James Bond (for kids) type feel.

Check out the extended Cars 2 trailer below, and click here for a full movie review and local listings, from the Montreal Gazette.

Enjoy this time off with your family and have a great day tomorrow! Hope the rain holds up!

Bonne Fete St Jean!

Drama in the PMS Deptartment!

This is probably my hormones taking over, but I am having a seriously tough week and feel the need to share with you all! Maybe it's just me, but my PMS has me all out of whack and is literally turning me upside down. Has your PMS become worse since having a baby? Mine definitely has! Gone are the days when I could spend a few hours vegged out on the couch eating Heavenly Hash ice cream watching Sex & the City re-runs. LOL. Now I am a mom, and you don't get a break from that. These past couple of days I am feeling super duper exhausted, all I want to do is sleep and sleep and sleep, but I can't, obviously. I am still on top of my mom game but I seriously roll my eyes a hundred times a day (I'm surprised they haven't got stuck up there yet, lol), I find myself crying watching episodes of Supernany (really??), everything seems to really get under my skin and boy did that guy from Bell really get an ear full from me yesterday. And don't get me started on my poor boyfriend (sorry boo!!)! Ugh.

Lol, dramatic but it's exactly how I felt these past few days

Moms, I am asking you, do you ever feel this way during PMS or am I highly over dramatic? I need some tips on how to perk myself up, get motivated and not let this week (+ future weeks) and exhaustion keep me down in the dumps. Any advice is welcome! Help me turn my frown upside down.

Home-Made Baby Grub

As my little munchkin gets older and is almost reaching the 6 month mark, I have started thinking and preparing to introduce him to veggies and fruits. Currently he is eating rice cereal with a little prune juice mixed in and he is becoming such a pro at it! It's so cute! I want to make my own baby food to ensure I am feeding my little one the healthiest food possible.

I originally wanted to purchase the Baby Bullet which is $80 at Canadian Tire, but I think that is quite pricey. I then started looking online for the best food processor to blend up baby food and I came across this ultra cool Babypro All In One Baby Food Maker by The First Years. It's only $48 (on Amazon) and its a steamer and a food processor all in one! It sounds amazing. It's BPA free and dishwasher friendly, yay! Have you heard and/or used this machine? Am I over-complicating things lol... should I just buy a regular old food processor? How do you make your baby/toddler's food?  Let us know, we would love to here about it!

The Art of Louboutin

I am looooving this new Fall/Winter 2011 look book for Christian Louboutin. The famous shoe designer partnered up, once again, with iconic photographer Peter Lippmann to re-create classic 15th century Renaissance portraits, with an added Louboutin touch. Amazing!

The theme for the shoot is ‘the power of femininity’. The painting’s timeless women are meant to “embody the spirit of the Christian Louboutin woman” and “each portrait acts as a setting for key creations from the upcoming collection twinned with the artist whose individual technique and subject defines their distinct character.”

Some of the historic and powerful figures and images in art, transformed by Louboutin and Lippmann include, 'Whistler’s Mother' by James McNeill Whistler. In this photo, the model is holding a 'Tootsie' ankle boot.

Another photo inspired by Francisco de Zurburan’s ‘Saint Dorothy of Caesarea’, shows a model displaying an ‘8 Mignon’ strappy sandals on a fruit platter.

The 'Artemis' shoulder bag is featured in other image inspired by Jean-Marc Nattiers' ‘The Portrait of Marquise D’Antin’.

And the 'Balda' Booty is not the only thing on full display in this re-interpretation of Marie-Guillemine Benoist’s 'Portrait d’une Negresse'.

The blend of powerful women, femininity, art and fashion is simply genius in this campaign by Louboutin. As if the red-soled stunners weren’t fabulous enough, they provide great eye candy for our Montreal Fashion Moms. Love it!

Necessity Or Just A Pain?

Today I needed to make an emergency run to Wal-Mart as I was on my last package of wipes. I decided to stop by my moms to drop off Ki, because being in Wal-Mart with him stuck in car seat in the cart not only 1. takes up the entire space in the cart 2. he just looks so awkward and uncomfortable in there and 3. it just frazzles me to be in there with no help in case he freaks and I need to carry him with one hand while pushing the cart with the other, ugh not fun. As I was driving I was thinking (so nice to be alone sometimes lol, you can think!) I can't wait until he can sit in the cart all by himself sans car seat. I remember seeing, while I was pregnant, a cover that fits in the shopping cart to keep them germ free and occupied while you shop. I wasn't sure at the time if it was necessary, and now I'm thinking it would be pretty cool to have.

$19.99 at Infantino.com

I came across an article on lilsugar.com that informed me that grocery cart seats are not only full of nasty germs and bacteria, but "according to researchers at the University of Arizona, shopping carts are dirtier than bathrooms, with fecal contamination and E. coli bacteria showing up on more than half of the carts sampled." EW! I will definitely be picking one of these up! Since I have a little boy, I will try and find this cute colorful Infantino one (above) but isn't this chocolate colored one (below) absolutely fab?

Buy on Etsy, $60

Do you think cart covers are necessary or just a hassle?

President Obama: Baby Charmer

LOL Check out this hilarious video I just stumbled upon of Michelle Obama holding a hysterical crying baby, but when passed off to her husband, U.S. President Barack Obama, the baby is calmed immediately.  The look he gives Michelle is priceless! Seems Mr. President has a way with the babies.

Versace for H&M

Hey fashion moms!

Ever wish you could own a fabulous designer dress, but they are just wayyyy beyond your budget? Well, H&M has just announced their latest designer collaboration with none other than the house of Versace.

The Fall 2011 collection for men, women and home is being designed by Donatella Versace herself and will be available in selected stores and online on November 17th.

While most of the collection is set to be a surprise, Donatella was so excited about it, that she decided to debut one of the dresses on the runway of the Versace men’s fashion show in Milan, and we have to say, it's lookin' fierce!

"Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times, and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and it is perfect for the party season, " Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M said in a statement.

Check out this video to see what Donatella and H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch have to say about this much anticipated collaboration.

We love when top fashion designers like Donatella Versace, collaborate with large chain stores like H&M so that their fabulous, coveted designs can become a little more attainable for us ‘regular’ folk, who want to be just as glamorous for a more reasonable price. We can’t wait to see what Donatella Versace has in store for us with this collection.

Pamper’s 50th Anniversary

Pampers, the world’s top-selling brand of baby diapers, celebrated their 50th anniversary this Father’s day in Toronto with celebrity father of three, Dean McDermott (Tori Spelling’s husband).

Dean joined other dads and children at the Riocan Yonge Eglinton Centre, to speak about the joys of fatherhood and to enjoy a fun filled day of family-friendly activities including arts and crafts, face painting, watching magic tricks and entertainers and more. Sounds like fun!

“I am honored to celebrate 50 years of Pampers and parenting this Father’s Day,” said Dean McDermott. “Pampers has been a huge part of my children’s lives from the hospital, to potty-training  and as a father of three, I know that being a parent is one of the most difficult – but most rewarding – jobs in the world and how much support from others counts.”

Additionally, Pampers unveiled its Little Miracle Missions program in Canada, which seeks to celebrate, support and protect babies everywhere through acts of kindness to little miracles and their families, while encouraging parents to “pay it forward” and support others.

Pampers is inviting Canadians to help others by visiting the Facebook page www.facebook.com/pampers to share stories and photos of missions accomplished to inspire others to take part.

What a fabulous way to celebrate Pampers' big 5-0, father’s day and all the little miracles, here in Canada. We always appreciate when companies give back, and what better way to celebrate 50 successful years, than by giving back to the little miracles that helped them get there.

Happy 50th Pampers!

PS. In honor of father's day Pampers is offering this complimentary Gifts to Grow code worth 10pts, FXHMWY4WKHU47JD. (expires June 24th)
