Baby Language

I just came across this video on Facebook last night, and thought it was very interesting and I had to share. The theory discussed in the video claims that across cultures and linguistic groups there are five sounds, each with a meaning, that are used by infants 0-3 months of age, before the language acquisition period, to express a need or want. The hypothesis was developed by Australian former mezzo-soprano, Priscilla Dunstan, who shared her research with Oprah Winfrey on a past episode of her show. (One I wish I had seen when my son was first born). Check it out, and let us know if this theory has helped you understand your baby’s language a little more.

President Obama: Baby Charmer

LOL Check out this hilarious video I just stumbled upon of Michelle Obama holding a hysterical crying baby, but when passed off to her husband, U.S. President Barack Obama, the baby is calmed immediately.  The look he gives Michelle is priceless! Seems Mr. President has a way with the babies.

Touchy Subject

Question for all moms out there. When a stranger sees your baby, do you find that they sometimes over step the boundaries and touch your baby without your permission? Touching their hands or face, even a leg?

Yesterday, I was at Canadian Tire with Ki and a woman, with her two kids, stopped for a second and said "you are sooo cute" to my son and rubbed his leg. She then walked away... I am not really sure how I feel about this. Is it over stepping boundaries or just a kind gesture?

Let us know what you think!
